Hi everyone,

I've been poking around online, looking at various gated communities, mainly golf resorts, and I'm getting a bit confused about the differences between La Torre resort and Las Terrazas resort. It feels like the more I look, the less clear things become.

1) Are these the same general resort/community, albeit in two different sections, or are they really separate in terms of gated communities, management, etc.?

2) Are they both around the same golf course, or are there two distinct golf courses?

3) Can anyone give a description (pros and cons) explaining the differences between La Torre and Les Terrazas?

Cheers for any clarification/info.

They are very different a few kilometrres apart. Terrazas course is Saurines and the ‘resort’ has no bars or restaurants open...only made up of apartment blocks.

La Torre is huge and has a couple of bars open in the ‘Town centre’ the hotel is currently closed. There is a supermarket and the resort is made up of villas and apartment blocks. Both are about 15/20 minutes to nearest beaches, small town of Roldan about 5 mins drive but nothing in walking distance. You need a car for both.

This is Saurines/ Terrazas

This is reflected in the prices, you can buy on Terrazas for €57,000,i do not think you could get a parking spot on La Torre for that.!! Depends what is important to you.

We have a villa on La Torre, it’s a completely different place to Las Terrazas.
You do need a car to get out and about but you can stroll into Roldan, It’s about 30 minutes.

Everywhere has been closed due to the pandemic but there are bars & restaurants in La Torre town centre plus a Hilton Doubletree hotel and a Spar supermarket.
It’s a beautiful, well kept & safe resort and the people are really friendly. We love it & can’t wait to get back over there..

I live on La Torre and viewed properties at Terraza. There is definitely more life on La Torre with bars shops and restaurants some of which close in the winter. Both resorts are similar distances from Roldan and Basilcas which have some shops, restaurants and bars. The golf courses are in similar good condition. Saurines is more of a test than La Torre lengthwise but very similar cost wise. Ownership of the golf courses is GNK at La Torre which also owns El Valle, Hacienda de Riquelme  (only recently re-opened) and Condado de Alabama (closed). Saurines is owned by UGolf which also owns Hacienda de Alamo and Mar Menor which are also open. Membership with GNK and UGolf are similar but with all 3 courses open I would say UGolf is currently better value.
