We’ll done and to all who have done the test however two weeks ago the British ambassador to Spain made the statement that the exchange of British and Spanish driving licences has now been agreed jut the written wording to be completed which will take a few weeks then all Brits in Spain will have 6 months from the May date to exchange your British license you can see the blog on YouTube on spainiacs YouTube channel

Talks are still ongoing, although the core details have apparently been agreed. Here is the actual video of the British Ambassador informing the public of the latest update.

Hi , will this rule apply to new arrivals in Spain? We are currently in the UK awaiting our non lucrative visas, hoping to fly over within the next few days. Will we be eligible to get the Spanish license if we apply within 6 months of our actual arrival (if the agreement between the 2 countries is finalised soon)?

Hi I believe so I’m waiting for my nlv put in the application on the 10th of June soon as I get it I’m off to Spain and now no need to worry about the driving I was looking at starting the process of driving lessons as soon as I arrived but as soon as the agreement which HAS been agreed is written up and a start date given we will have 6 mounts from that date and obviously moving forward 6 months from the date you reside in Spain 🇪🇸

Wow, that would have added to the stress. I'm in awe. Congratulations on staying the course.
I'm curious to know your personal opinion of the approach taken by Spain to the driving test? Do you consider that it's a worthwhile approach or do you consider that people can get overburdened with so much knowledge? Can one possibly retain all that knowledge I wonder? Thank you for sharing that harrowing event with us, I found it fascinating.
