Hi Roland, Thanks for that! :o) If I have to wait until I get to Spain to go to the bank to set up an account it isn't a problem. I am not so concerned about bank charges, although the fewer the better, it is more about being shafted :o(  The wefferent account looks good as I tend to do all my banking online :o)

I was with Caixa, very popular in LA but lots of queuing needed, 

I switched to Bankinter, a small branch, well located on the 525 round-about. 

General service good, speak English, good online banking. 

Them plus Wise for international transfer is a good combination.

Hi Roberto, It is Bankinter that I am wanting to move away from. No problem with the service at 525, it is their central bank I have issues with :o(

I understand you had a mortgage/contract issue with Bankinter head office but you might equally have that with another bank.  Its all about the contract and reading it. Was it Brexit related.

I'd sit down with the LA Manager and explain your unhappiness and see if he gets it waived/reversed.

My comments are on the question of best banks in LA.
