Can anyone please recommend an electrician. My electric either trips or goes off without tripping. I think it might be something to do with the water heater and hopefully a simply fix.

So I might need to just contact Iberdrola and explain it to them. Do they have to come to the property or is it something simple they do. Was there a charge, or does it mean a higher rate for the electric used after?

I have emailed Iberdrola twice, the electric has not come back on since it went off this afternoon. What exactly happened when you said it happened to you, how was it resolved, was it through the supplier or did you need an electrician.

We unplugged a few of the things to reduce the load. Due to the low capacity we could only use a few things at a time so we had to get the supply increased which meant Iberdrola had to increase the supply to our apartment. It does mean a higher standing charge but in my opinion is worth

The electric usually comes on after a while but this time it is not even though theres only the fridge plugged in. I'm waiting for Iberdrola to ring me back as the line was busy.  If they say its not a problem with the supply please PM me the electrician contact details please.

It may be that your 'potencia' is too low. This is, more or less, the maximum power (kW) that you can use at any one time.

If you look on your bill, it should be shown in the summary and also in the calculation of your bill '3.3 x €XX.XX x 30 days' or similar. If your potencia is around 3.3kW, you will probably need to get it increased to 5.75kW (which is the next common value).

Consider that a kettle commonly uses 3kW, an oven 2-2.5kW, water heater 1.5kW, then you have background like your fridge, freezer, etc. - so its easy to get to 3.3kW.

If so, you need to contact Iberdrola, they will probably send an electrician to check that your circuits etc are appropriate and then they will increase it. The increase in your bill will be the difference between 3.3 and 5.75 in the multiplication shown above, so possibly a 15-20% increase in your overall bill.

In the meantime, turn everything off and shut all the fuses off, apart from the main fuse; turn appliances on at their fuse and then turn them on. You should then work out the appliances you can choose to use in turn.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately I have tried turning everything off  then back on, but I have no electricity at all, nothing works.
