Sorry Vic

I thought I had replied to your comment above but hadnt posted the reply !

What a shame you had to cancel the appointment how are you getting on with things now ? Do you have all your paperwork back and ready ?

We have our appointment on 19th May but I'm still waiting for the medical certificate so we are going to cancel this appointment.

Did you manage to get sorted and do you have another appt booked ?

Hope you are having better luck than me !  My partner has all his stuff sorted I managed to do all of that myself, but looks like I have to wait for my medical records to be sent to me !  I have found a private GP that can do it so it will be a matter of them checking my records and they have said they will do it same day.

I have emailed the translator you recommended so we can at least get Steves docs ready.

Keep me posted how your getting on.  I hope you don't have to wait til October.

Good Luck

Hi Ang.

Sounds like you are getting there.  I have found that the problem is my GP.  MK Legalisation send an e-mail to the GP to authenticate the signature on the Health report and they ignore it!!  As the original GP had left, I sent another copy to MK with a new signature which also needs verifying. I chased the Surgery with 2 e-mails this week (nothing) and went to see them yesterday.  They said they had the e-mail from MK on Tuesday and would reply straight away.  We will see but fingers and eyes crossed!  Then book another appointment with the consulate and flights.  My big problem now is that I was in Berlin for New Year and my 180 days started then, I still need to get the Padron and TIE sorted in Murcia berfore 30th June. Just hoping that the TIE comes into effect and I can then stay longer.

Mi casa is in Los Alcazares on Mar Menor. Very quiet there but i love it.  Where will you be?  Keep me updated and good luck.

Hi Vic

How long were you in Berlin for ? I thought you just couldn't stay in Europe for more than 90 days in 180 consequtively.

If you went on holiday to for eg Crete in May for 7 nights and then went to live in Spain in September would that not be allowed ?

As far as I'm aware before you apply for the Visa you can go on holiday as many times as you like as pre brexit as long as you do not stay more than 90 days ?

I may be wrong but that was my understanding of what I have read.

We will be pretty close we have a Villa in Sucina it has been built and is all ready for us to move into, all our belongings are in storage and we are staying at my daughters until we can go.

I will say a prayer for you that you can get out ASAP and maybe when we are out there we can meet for a celebratory Vino/Beer.

Whenever that may be !

Someone had posted a link on another thread to an online calculator that calculated the days, etc. for the 90 in 180 rules.

I can't remember who, but I think it might have been 'eraser' who is regularly on here helping people, so you might want to contact her directly?

Hi Ang.

Slight panic when I read your note but all OK.  I was there till 3rd Jan so my 180 days started then.  My neighbour in Spain invited me to spend Christmas and New year with her in Berlin.  That's why I have to get all finished by 30th June or it's 90 days before the next 180.  Another neighbour has a contact who will sort the TIE paperwork and also drive me to Murcia (twice, I believe) for €60.  Sounds like a bargain. You're not too far away in Sucina so it might be worth knowing.

I downloaded the Application form for the Padron.  I haven't got a clue.  Makes the Visa ones look simple! The translation is weird so I'll take it with me and get help in Spain!!

I have a simple, bog standard little villa that I bought off an Icelandic couple about 8 years ago and last year was going to be the first time I used it properly after a very late retirement. But hey. Stuff happens.

It would be great to meet up for a vino or 2 if you can put up with a couple of old farts who are willing to Paint the Town - Beige!!

We're driving over with all our wordly goods (one way van hire)! We leave next Wednesday and plan to arrive Friday evening.

Very excited! I believe we have all the paperwork in order. I'll update when we arrive with our experiences and any tips from the journey.

Ha ha I'm sure that is untrue about the Town ... beige lol

I believe you are fine as the 90 day stay is in a rolling 180 days.  I have read more info on this this morning.

Our solicitors in Spain along with the estate agent will help us with the TIE and Padron.  The main thing is to just get out there first and

start enjoying the future all being well.

Another hurdle for us now only came to light through brexit is the area we are buying in, we need a military permit to buy in certain places but this is being looked into for us now.

Hopefully it will not cause a problem but we will see ! If it does cause us a problem we may have to buy a motorhome and live in that until the sale is complete.

Good Luck !!

Forget the motor home. Buy a tank to live in.! Covered for everything then
