Hi there,

Can anybody tell me if there are any Craft Classes in the area and if not would there be any interest to have some?

My husband and I currently live in England but looking into the possibility of buying a holiday home with a view to spending the autumn and winters there in time.

We have 2 craft shops with studios in East Sussex and I have taught classes for a number of years in Cardmaking, Decopatch, Mosaic, Jewellery Making etc and just wondering if I could relocate for part of the year and use these skills in the Mar Menor/Murcia area?

Kind regards, Lisa

I thonk there would be an interest in craft classes...there is a patchwork/sewing group in the local community centre and a group of us meet at someones house to have a go at other things but varied crafts would be great as long as its not too expensive as your participans would mainly be retired people I think...a few of the bars have spare rooms that are free most daytimes I'm sure they'd be pleased to have something going on!! Los Alcazares area.

HI Crissywissy - Really useful information, thank you for taking the time to reply. Classes I have done range from £10 - £18 last 2 hours, the most  expensive being jewellery making but all classes including everything you need to complete the chosen project.  Depending on the group, projects the prices can be tweaked along with the duration if necessary.

I'd definitely give it a go...set up a Facebook page then advertise on other local FB groups..there are loads...everything here is organised through FB and Whatsapp!!

I run a Ladies who Lunch group with over 400 members which might be a good place to start...LwL Los Alcazares

Definitely...have you got an area in mind? Would definitely recommend Los Alcazares or Santiago de la Ribera area....lovely in the winter months...warm days but a bit chilly at night...never wore a coat last winter and sat on the roof in the sun on Christmas day! Lots going on and you can integrate with local Spanish people as much or as little as you like....

Keep in touch!
