Looking to help my elderly parents get reliable Satellite internet installed. They are in the hills 15 mins outside Puerto de mazzaron.

Being in Australia and not being able to travel to them is hard enough, need someone I can trust to install.

Help please.

Try Compusurf on B Commercial Centre.

They have a website.

Try Wimaz,  they in the Puerto de Mazarron.

Supplying wi-fi as far as L'Azohia.

And Wimax but I never used them.

It's a lot of fibre optic cable has been installed in the area, are you sure there's no availability near by?

We use Wimax - it requires a small dish pointing to a ground-based antenna.

It's quite reliable, unless there's an electrical storm or similar, but occasionally suffers from buffering.

I think the installation costs were around €120 and then we pay €30.25 per month.

Hope this helps!

I have used Wimaz successfully for quite a few years and they installed a little dish (we're in the port.) I recommend them and they are pretty helpful. They speak english and have a shop in the port. They also have a website and they do respond to email. http://www.wimaz.es

We had a problem and they sent someone round on a moped and he fixed it in a few minutes.

However, as noted, these systems don't always work perfectly in some weather conditions. And I couldn't say for sure that they go out as far as your parents.

Depends whether there is a WIMAX type transmitter in line of sight.  In my case there isn't and no mobile signal either so the only option was satellite - the dish is about 750mm diameter. Its never gone down in 6 years and is fine for VOIP and video calls. The connection speed is 20Mbps but I am limited to 60GB per month which makes streaming TV almost impossible, although there is an unmetered period  between 1am and 6am so if any IPTV is available with a timed download its idea - we download using torrents. Once the 60GB cap is reached the system stays connected but at 256kbps which means that it's still fine for emails and messages through messenger or whatsapp.

The system is Tooway and provided through Bentley Walker in the UK, the local agent is Dave Buchanan.

Cost is £60 per month but there are options with less GB and slower speeds.
