Hi does anyone know if there is a bus from Puerto de Mazarron bus station that goes to Murcia city centre and if so frequency and cost?  It would just be a day trip.

Yes, there is a bus service to Murcia capital from the port several times daily. The bus station at the other end is pretty central. The city is well worth day trip with lots of history and plenty of interesting things to see. Bus takes less than an hour. The vehicles are comfortable. You can pick it up at the bus station in the port but it originates in Bolnuevo (and the timetable shows Bolnuevo departure so add five mins).  A single is less than 7 euros and I don't think a return is much more. Cash only on the bus.

For a day trip the 11:30 is usually the one I get into Murcia and come back at 6 or the last one is 20:30. https://www.interbusmurcia.es/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/nuevos-horarios-mazarron-a-partir-del-30-04-21.pdf

Beware fiestas/public holidays/festivos/red days and the services is much more limited at the weekend,

If you're in the port now, pop down to the tourist info place at the square for definitive timetables but the operator is Interbus. The boards and timetables at the bus station are not precisely 'user friendly'.

I have never had a bus not turn up. But they don't run to the minute, shall we say.

Have a good day out,

Ross.

Hi Ross many thanks for this information.  I am actually coming on 12 May to 16 May.  We are staying in La Azohia and come every year.  Knowing how unreliable the Alsa bus service is from La Azohia to Puerto de Mazarron I’m also after a local taxi number if you could recommend one please?  Man

I recommend Rufino. He’s a fully licensed cab driver based in the port and is very reliable. He also speaks English having lived in the UK for several years.

He does local runs and airports etc. Lovely guy. 0034 629 835 438 He is on WhatsApp so you can text him there.

I'm not sure you can. I have never bothered. Just cash when you board. :)
