I would be grateful if any member local to Isla Plana could tell me if it's essential to make an appointment at the Pharmacia for the test to get back to the UK. I'm currently in the UK and would be looking for an appointment on September 13th.

I haven't been out there since 2019, and I've forgotten their opening hours, so any help will be good.

Thanks

Yes make an appointment as very busy. Opening hours vary. Look them up on Google maps for details

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise they would have a website, when I found it I emailed them and successfully made an appointment.

Just when I thought I'd got it sorted!!

I've looked on the latest UK Gov site and it says any test within 72 hrs for entry back to the UK from an amber country. I just phoned P & O to see what their cancellation policy is in the event of a positive result, and I was told that an antigen test only lasts for 24hrs, but the PCR test lasts 72hrs. Has anyone driven back from Spain to the UK via Calais recently? Getting into France and Spain seems a doddle compared the UK.

I know there is a lot of questions on the forum about this, sorry about raising it again, but I've never known so much confusion. There is always the problem/anxiety that the rules could change mid travel as well!

Experiences and recommendations for the compulsory 2nd day test would be welcome as well.

You need to do a test as closer as possible your departure from Spain. Then you will meet the French regulations as people being stopped on the French boarder from the Spain and turned around without the one or it's being taken longer 24h before.

UK will definitely accepts your test as you know already and just ignore P&O advise but might drive a bit faster... just in case!

We used randox for 2 day test and they emailed us the results the next morning after we dropped off the tests in one of their designated drop boxes.
