to answer your original question ....you do not need your S1 in Spanish! They dont even read it! Your solicitor is making it more difficult.....which area are you?

Puerto de mazarron. I think you are right i thinkt my solicitor has worded it wrong meaning any private health insurance must be in Spanish not the S1.I'm getting in touch with her today. Thank you so much for your reply

Hi Denise,

We have applied for our Health care in Spain. The UK international healthcare department do not provide S1 in Spanish. We had to get ours translated onto an official document to take to the Social Security Office. We have now been advised that the healthcare card is now ready to be picked up it cost us €110 for the translation which also included our marriage certificate and €80 for the health cards. I do hope this information helps you. Ps my husband is retired so I get my healthcare free due to this.

Thank you for the information. Are you in mazarron and where did you get your S1 translated onto an official document .I was hoping that my husband would be able to get his health card through me as I am retired and you have answered that question. ☺

No unfortunately we don’t live in your area, we reside in the Campo de Ricote which is about 1 hr 20 from you. We went to a Gestoria in Cieza who sorted everything for us, great guy who also speaks English. We have dealt with him with many different matters with regards to living in Spain and obviously we want to be above board with everything. People might tell you different stories but we have been blessed by doing the right thing.
