For letting me join this forum.

My wife Wendy and I are seriously thinking of relocating to PDM permanently but would appreciate some advice please on shops in the area please.

Would someone kindly advise if there is a haberdashery as my wife enjoys knitting so would need access to wool.

Is the internet reliable ? Does anyone know of any good deals for internet and a couple of mobiles. Don't have to be iPhones but some sort of smart phone would be preferable.

I've research income tax on google but so many answers and it gets a bit confusing. We both receive a company pension in the U.K. Which is taxed accordingly. I read that Spain and U.K. Have an agreement that tax is only due in one country so does anyone know which country it would be more beneficial to be taxed in or even if this is possible.

Wool and all sorts of craft stuff available in the chino shops and the markets. Lots of phone shops with good deals for contract or pay as you go...go to one of the big commercial centres for plenty of choice. Not sure about internet providers in your area but if you do facebook there are plenty of pages for the PDM area and you will find lots of recommendations.

Once you are resident you cannot choose where you pay tax and your company pension and state pension will be taxed in Spain...personal tax allowances are lower than UK and you must declare your world wide income ..so any interest is taxable....obviously not as simple as that but there are goos assesorias around who will do your tax returns for you.... due the year after you become resident ( for the previous year ..Jan- Jan)

Hi to you Steve......don’t know whether there is a bus to PDM (not directly from the San Javier Airport). What you have to be mindful of is that San Javier Airport is due to cease operational flights sometime early next year 2019. The new Airport due to serve this area/replace will be at Corvera (inland).
