It will depend on who you bank with in the UK.

Most Spanish ATM's charge a fee.

Unfortunately free ATMs in Spain are as rare as hens teeth, banks are now beginning to make charges for many things which they never made charges for  in the past. I have never paid for a debit card since 1996 but now my bank has said under new rules they will have to start charging me?

I have downloaded there phone app so no longer need a card!  I can withdraw money from the said bank, free of charge and use the phone as a card in most shops.

Why not open a Spanish bank account and use there app?

Perhaps you bank has a similar phone app?

In addition to the WEswap card fee you will probably be charged by the Spanish ATM's.

It's actually ( my opinion only ) a useless expensive card.

There are many other ways to get cash from a Spanish ATM for free.

Please tell us who you bank with in the UK as certain banks offer free ATM withdrawals in Spain.

Great news then !!

With your Santander DEBIT card you can withdraw cash from any Santander cash machine in Spain free of charge.

Remember that it is from a Santander cash machine ONLY and from your own bank account.

Just remember that when you put your card in the machine you will get a message that's says something like ' Do you wish to proceed with or without our conversion rate'. ( I can't just remember the exact words sorry ).

Always select ' Without'.

You will then get your cash at the exchange rate at that time with no extra fees.
