We were due to fly out to Corvera on 4th April with Ryanair - they cancelled that flight last week - I suspect they and all the other UK based airlines will have cancelled or be about to cancel all flights to Corvera.

Even if you get to Corvera, chances are you will not be able to make it to your destination - so I wouldn't even consider it at the moment, especially as Spain intends to extend its restrictions further....

...

We had no problen getting a refund on our car hire either from Centauro and due to the exchange rate dropping, we even got about 12% more back than we paid - every cloud and all that...

Hi MitchNorwich.

Could you tell me exact procedure you took for getting a cancellation and refund from Centauro. I submitted a cancellation request some time ago through their website and so far just a deafening silence from them.

Many thanks and regards, Michael19....

Hi

How have you found out there are no flights in or out of Covera all through April please? My flight home was originally for 1st April from Covera and Easyjet emailed me to offer me the 4th April instead. I have heard nothing more to the contrary just yet. Noticed rescue flight from Easyjet websit...

...e from Alicante to Gatwick for tomorrow (Sunday) and cannot get through to them to rebook either by phone or on their website. Telling customers to just go to the airport and they will do their best!!

Hi, rang Avis this morning and was told all offices would be closed from 1 April, but they didn't say for how long.

Sky news is currently showing lots of parked easyjet  aircraft,  Their staff have  have been told they are on 85% wages for april and may.  I am waiting for them to formally cancel fights so I can ask for my money back.   I think my car hire money with goldcar will probably never be seen again (booked through do you spain) but if any one has information to the contrary, please let me know?

As Jaz says, cancel via doyouspain.com

You can do this via the original email you

received when you booked with them.

And you should get an email confirming cancelation.

Unless you have booked with a clause that says non refundable.

Goldcar are usually the ones who offer this with a very cheap rate, and have a little red icon in corner but I would stay away from Goldcar at every opportunity anyway.

As long as you cancel prior to the hire of the car, there shouldn’t be a problem, just may take longer due to demand of cancellation requests

I think this is an automated service online

Hope all goes ok

I always book via Do You Spain and select a deal with free cancellation. Not all companies offer this, check your contract. If you struggle and paid by credit card, contact them for a refund.

Can someone tell me if Corvera Airport and the car hire companies there are closed at the moment ?

And do you know if they will be open in April    was due to fly back 8 th April 20     flight is still active on the website ?

Many thanks in advance

You have missed the boat or in this case the plane. I would try rebooking around 8th July it might be ok by then. You should have gone home weeks ago or like us not come out at all. Self inflicted I am afraid.

Blindside6.  Thank you for your response.  For information I have been in the Gulf protecting the UK interests over there as I’m in the Navy for the last 6 months that’s why I As you said without knowing someone’s circumstances that I should of gone home or not left in the first place.  I booked the original flight as I only had a small time slot of leave to enable me seeing Family in Spain again a fact you commented on without knowing the full story !   So as I was in the Gulf on my ship and booked long before the lockdown in Spain was even an idea then hopefully now you can see it was not “self inflicted”  I’m afraid !   Once again I appreciate all answers based on facts rather than speculation and I wish you well in these as they say unprecedented times.

Don't worry shipwreck, there's plenty of know it all's around the globe. Hopefully you can get back to your ship and oppo's. If your flight is still going ahead, should be able to drop off your hire car at the airport - take photo's of car, mileage etc just in case they try to rob you blind
