One person in a car, going to one shop then one person returning home? Surely it makes no difference how far the travel on ones own, and meeting one assistant on a till is again surely better than going into several supermarkets. One big shop.

Some common sense needs to be applied, and I am no more threat doing what I did.

It's  not rocket science PeterC, the whole point is CONTAINMENT. The further afield the journey the greater the risk of moving the virus around. Your local area might  be virus free, 6km down the road might not. Or vice versa. Either way a very good reason to stay as near to your home as possible.

This might become academic if  Sanchez brings in futher rumoured supermarket restrictions during the week. Have heard that one allocated day a week, allocated supermarket shopping might come upon us mid-week.

I did just that the other day Roberto. I felt apprehensive - it is 6.5 kms each way, but there was very little traffic and no sign of police. I was of course on my own in the car, and had thought through what to say to justify the trip if I needed to - I am in my 70s as is my OH, and although rel...

I bought enough stuff (without stockpiling) to help us eat for a couple of weeks, with maybe a trip or two on foot to more local supermarkets - the problem with using the local ones is that there is a limit on how much weight either of us can carry.

All we all can do is do our best, and be sensible.
