Hi I was thinking of renting my studio out for the winter. I was wondering if I can get landlord insurance.

Not just as simple as you think.

You need a licence to rent out a property now

If you don't get one & get caught the penalties are very severe.

Not just a few hundred euro's either

 10 000 + euro's as it's classed as tax evasion !!

!50 per cent agree

Ensure that you do have a fully inspected and approved Tourist Rental Licence and have the official

Registered Rental Licence Plaque installed on the external wall of your property which the area inspector and

police now regularly check against. To echo the other post Yes fines and imprisonment are now very severe and you would also

find that any guest in your property would also be fined usual 25-40 per cent of the fined you received.  So,. if your were fined 100,00 euros they would receive a 20,000-40,000 euro fine. Remember you also have to register every guest into and out of the property with the local police.

It all save you as noted court appearance for tax evasion a fine plus maybe imprisonment and very unhappy guest also receiving  massive fine as well.
