Registering UK car onto Spanish plates

Hi all

I've read the horror stories, now I need the truth from someone sensible who knows and lives in and around Sucina.

I've got a 10 month old RHD Peugeot 3008 and intend on keeping it here in Spain....Yes, I'm aware of 'implications' with the steering heel on the 'wrong' side but be well assured I'm more than competent to keep up with the Spanish way of driving (I'm formerly a police officer, pursuit qualified and an ADI)

The car has had right hand dip headlamps fitted prior to arrival here and has a Spanish Certificate of Conformity....How does one go about re-registering/putting the car through its 'cursory' ITV and getting the plates sorted?

Any input gratefully received

Hi Nick

There is Citizens Advice Spain; they are legitimate and all genuine advice. Register with them and there are files that can be viewed on line. You can select to have one-to-one advice for a small fee.

Also, Expats in Spain/Files they have great info. You can browse files on line.

I'm quite sure you will get answers.

I had mine done with Replate Mate. They organise everything for you from the vehicle technical inspection through the ITV and the importation process at the Embassy then bring you the plates when they're issued.

I am having mine done with' Declid ' Garage in Mazarron . They are English and do it all for you. You can email a copy of your log book to get a quote. The price is a % on the value of your car and emissions. The government sets the price.
