I have read several discussions regarding a problem with flies. Some comments are alarming to people like myself who are looking to re locate to Sucina, any advise please
We have just left and there was no problem at all. But it was worse in the hotter months, but you have to remember it's an arrid climate and there is a litter problem, as quick as we can pick it up people are dropping more, dog owners aren't helping either and some abandoned properties. All things can be rectified.
It is a countryside location at the end of the day.
All in all, it's a quiet peaceful community with a traditional town, we love it.
Hi Beanie, thank you so much for your informative reply, it is very helpful

Hi lez
Sorry but I seem to be one of the many residents in Sucina who have been plagued with flies throughout the summer totally spoiling our "place in the sun". We still have a problem here..opening our car door to unload shopping and 20 to 30 flying in! We spray our mosquito door to exit and enter as they are waiting to pounce! I speak for many residents here..I disagree partially that it is litter and dog mess that attracts them although I see the previous comment and know the problem doesnt help.however this problem lies with the Mayor who has to be told that farmers MUST spray their crops regularly to help relieve this problem. Unfortunately we were not told previous to purchasing that there was a fertilizer plant in Sucina! Sorry for being the" party pooper "here but everything I say is true.
Hello Lynn
Thank you for the information, anything and everything is very helpful . I find it incredible in this day and age, the welfare of people, is nottaken seriously. Surely a group could be formed to put pressure on relevant parties.

Hi Lez
I would be more than happy to front a petition or discussion but not speaking the lingo is a major drawback why trying to get anything done in Spain. I have said this before but we all need to get together preferably Spanish speaking and approach the relevant partes i.e the Mayor initially before it gets out of hand. Dreading next spring/summer.
Keep your chin up, try to get someone in authority on board or a respected community member, their input may lead to avenues not yet explored.

I can't find this fertiliser plant.
There are farmers though

Hi Chris
Sorry had to reply to your pros and cons. Weather in our part of the u.k is perfectly acceptable. Spain is far too hot in summer and also cold in winter! I don’t come across many depressing people in u.k. Have met a few here though! Also I think the food here is as expensive as in the u.k. Just my opinion as I respect yours. The reason I am being so vocal about the filthy flies is that we all know where they like to inhabit (Sucina fertilizer plant) and also on rotting food and dogs mess surrounding the village bins and pavements.and are landing on our food etc on a daily basis. It would be great if more people would get involved with this problem instead of denying it exists or we will have the same or even worse trouble in the warmer months ahead.
