We live in Sucina & have done so for 18 months .I wouldn’t live any were else . We are so central to everywhere  15/20 to Airport . The weather is great , can get a little chilly Jan/Feb but nothing bad . We do get some flys from time to time but I believe any hot places get some . We ...

...don’t get them all the time . Sucina is such a friendly little town ,with great places to eat & drink .

Thanks for that. It's nice to have feedback from someone who lives there. Do you live on the urbanisation or actually in the village where the amenities are as it's probably different.  I don't mind flies as normal but not when I can't sit out to relax or eat outdoors without them flying around the table or me! I'll bear your comments in mind as we continue to look then thanks.

We live on the Urb , it’s only a five to 10 min walk to the Square .

Hi everyone,  I recently came to Spain to look for a property to relocate to from France.  I came to Sucina and liked what I saw. What is the weather like all year? I guess it will be warmer than the Dordogne.  I have heard a rumour that there are a lot of flies there. This is some...

...thing we suffer dreadfully with in France as we live in the country. I couldn't stand them again if they are plentiful.  Is Sucina a nice community to live in with a mix of Spanish, English and any other nationalities? Many thanks. X

Hi! We bought our house in Lo Pagan 3 years ago and just love being there amongst mainly Spanish people. Just 8 minutes walk to a lovely beach, good restaurants and very few flies! We have door curtains but we have our doors and windows open. Just returned to England 2 days ago - it was hot but flies never bothered us, just an odd mosquito which we quickly stunned with our substantial fly swats from the Asia shop in San Javier. I think you would have more flies in Sucina than we have near the coast. Happy house hunting!

Thankyou Ray, Ann and Mags for your replies. Very much appreciated.  We are looking at San P as an alternative but not many properties in our range at the moment.  We will be making another road trip in late September so we will visit the areas around there. Thanks again.

We were going to buy in SannPedro however , we visited Peurto de Mazerron and we fell in love with the location , try there before you buy

I would agree with the other posters. We live near San Pedro, in Santiago de la Ribera which is a small resort on the Mar Menor. Definitely no flies around!! It does get very hot in summer, June and July were in the 30's this year. Winters are sunny but can be freezing cold at night.

Lots of trips you can do from San Pedro.

Prices are low compared to the UK.

Look at Los Alcazares on the coast.  No problem with flies.  It has plenty of amenities. As with most areas you will need a car as public transport is non existent.  Do check the area as some parts are prone to flooding.  My advice rent first wherever you decide. It’s expensive to move so important to get it right first time.
