Hi 👋 everyone!!! Just toying the idea to move over to the area of sucina from northern ireland. But I have a 10 year old that is mad about football and pretty good at it too and plays for his home town club. What is it like in Sucina in reference to football? Are there any clubs that's at a good standard? And also is it a decent place for things to do for the kids? Many thanks folks

Hi in terms of supporting a local club there is Cartegena CF on the south coast of Murcia. They are in the second tier of Spanish football so a pretty high standard.

Also Real Murcia are in the third regional tier and recently had a  20 000 plus crowd.

AD Sucina is a mens football team in a local league and entrance is free

As for PLAYING football it may be a case of googling and translating local club sites for info in what they offer.

Good luck !

Steve

Hi, I recently cameto Sucina to view a property to buy as my husband and I are keen to move to Spain..

We don't want hustle and bustle of places like torrevieja but is there enough going on in Sucina without being deadly quiet?

I guess that all depends on what you define as "much going on" but I do know some people love Sucina.

However,  for me  a happy medium would somewhere like San Pedro del Pinatar which has the benefit of being on the Mar Menor, has all the amenities a town of over 20K has & plenty of sports facilities as well.

You will have to have a car in Sucina as public transportation probably won't cover your needs. San P is mostly Spanish but there are a good few ex Pats there too & English is widely spoken. It has an authentic Spanish feel to it, in other words you won't be living in Little Britain or Little Ireland or Little anywhere else.

I don't want to put you off Sucina & I don't live there myself but I have heard concerns about flies there. I know there is a good mix of Spanish and ex Pats there as well and some nice bars and restaurants. It's very pretty and I imagine it's pretty safe.

San P is 20 mins. drive and a world of difference to Torrevieja but  you can have that close by if you want it while San P is more sedate and laid back with plenty going on if you want that and it's a living town too not just holidaymakers.  Mostly visitors are Spanish. That said, some places do close down in the winter months but we never have any difficulty finding what we need.

I wish you well in your search and if you have any specific areas of concern just let me know in either a PM or on this thread. I'll be happy to help if I can.  Cheers. Ann
