Can anyone recommend: Knowledge of how to deal with damp/black mould

Most Spanish houses do not ave air bricks so either get some instead or get extractor fans in kitchen n bathrooms. We sowed the problem by leaving windows open about a millimetre.

Hi AidenMac, I'm nor going to pretend to be all knowledgeable about removing black mould but I do find that google is a good starting tool, below are listed some of the cures, I have the same problem after the bad weather and will be trying them out myself..good luck.

Borax – Powdered borax dissolves easily in water and is effective at removing black mould. Just mix one cup of borax per gallon of water, transfer to a clean spray bottle, then spray the desired area. Leave for a few minutes and wipe away, leaving a shiny surface behind

• Hot water and baking soda – You’ll need one teaspoon of washing up liquid, one cup of baking soda, and a few drops of something fragrant (we recommend lavender or citrus oil). Then add water and mix until the solution becomes a viscous paste and you’re done – a natural black mould remover.

• Vinegar – Vinegar is another black mould removal method. Use white distilled vinegar, transfer to a spray bottle, and spray directly onto the desired area. The smell should vanish along with the mould a few hours later.

Hi AidenMac, I tried the vinegar cure and it worked a treat.

I saw someone reply.. they leave their window open a tiny bit...   Well I once left my 2nd floor window open about half an inch.. Result I got burgled n they took EVERYTHING.. including cooker, pipes, water heater and taps.. So my advise NEVER LEAVE WINDOW slightly ajar when not there. I thought I was safe enough doing so on second floor of block of flats.. You live n learn   :(

Unlucky to be burgled like that. I know that there are windows available with built in ventilation. So they wouldn’t need to be opened. Too late now I suppose 😩
