Funeral costs - 4 replies

Elizabeth Posted by Elizabeth in General Ricote discussion on Thu Apr 9, 2020 11:26am

Hello,

Does anyone know how much a simple cremation funeral with no service costs, and whether it is difficult to arrange? We had a quote recently for 3,500 euros each and wondered whether this represented good value for money? We are not planning on going anytime soon (hopefully) but thought  it might be prudent to arrange something in advance. Many thanks.

Plagues of flies????? - 1 replies

Glyn and Lorraine Posted by Glyn and Lorraine in Moving to Ricote: tips and advice on Mon Mar 30, 2020 11:46am

we are planning to emigrate from the uk to Spain but are concerned about horror stories of plagues of flies. How true are they? where should we consider buying/avoiding. We seem to like the Murcia region and as we are 60 and a little disabled we would like views (mountain rather than sea) we want to avoid Brits eating egg and chips, but rather assimilate with Spanish way of life.

about one hour from RMU???

thanks for your advice

Security in rural properties - 3 replies

ColK Posted by ColK in Safety and security information in Ricote on Sun Dec 29, 2019 6:31pm

Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts on the security of rural properties?

Would it be safer to be quite remote or nearer to other properties?

I’ve read some articles about people and dogs being gassed but I’m not sure if this is actually an issue.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Coll

Hi

I’ve fallen in love with the ricote valley. We are looking to find out from people who live or spend time in the winter what it’s like. I’m trying to find a non tourist area with good in (Spanish terms) winter weather. Any views experiences or advice would be really helpful. What are typical winter days like ? Windy etc x
