I have two properties one on fibre one on WiFi. No problem with either - stream all channels including UK on VPN absolutely no problems - with Telitec. Highly recommended

At this time download 19.2Mbps upload 23.5Mbps

The people claiming to get 25Mb of Compusurf is absolute BS, Compusurf do not do a 25Mb package even, their max speed is 10Mb.

Seriously heed what others are saying about the badness of Compusurf. I have had it multiple times in holiday lets and also at home and it is, without a doubt the most unreliable service.

They also chuck in their own free TV service that was that bad that I got a better stream direct from my home in the UK.

That said, if its a holiday let you want the ability to switch on and off, financially, Compusurf is the better option.

There are two fiber providers on Camposol, Telitec and Telecable. Both offer true fiber to the home for dirt cheap prices and provide speeds that I could never hope to get in the UK. Telitecs best package is 300Mb up / 300Mb down and Telecable is 150Mb up / 300Mb down. I have both but use them for business.

There are cheaper packages, I think the above ones are about €40 each. You should be able to get a fiber package that is both cheaper and much faster than the Compusurf WIFI.

With regards to having to buy the equipment for fiber, I'm pretty sure I didn't pay for it with either provider. In fact Telecable's install fee was only €69 and they had to pull in a a couple of hundred meters of fiber cable from a few streets away as my street didn't have it. This would have literally cost thousands with BT back home.

I can assure you that, with telitec at least,  it  IS fibre optic all the way into the house and into the Wi-Fi router. I was an  IT bod back in the UK before moving over here 2 months ago and can tell the difference between coax, cat5 and fibre cables. Watch the install underway and as mentioned in earlier post mammoth job to run fibre from end of street into house, think our install costs were around 80/90€, well under UK charge.

Im glad that someone cleared that up, I had Compusurf  when I first moved to camposol, I will agree that the customer service is fine, but they do not offer a fast enough constant speed to run Tv from, If the speed is a constant 10mg, then you might get away with is as long as nothing else is being used, other than that then no.

As I said earlier. I have 2 always on PCs, a smart TV (gets BBCi Player, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc) and my PC monitor which has an Amazon Firestick (also a Chromecast!) connected to it.

I didn't mention that I also have Internet capable security cameras connected by WiFi to the Router.

My phone & tablet are also connected.

It all works just fine via Compusurf.

I don't get buffering problems with Netflix or Amazon on either screen.

LIve UK TV is mostly via the Satellite dish and I don't have any problems with that either. I can record on a hard drive connected to the receiver.

We were with Compusurf for 2 years paid for 10 and speed was constantly down to between 2.5 and 4. Once we got our firestick, constant freezing and buffering so changed to cable and now pay 80 cents more a month than Compusurf for 50, no problems whosoever now and we run laptops, mobiles, printers and 2 firesticks.

Roland,

I have been an IT pro for over 25 years, I have two racks in  Manchester datacenter and have used 10GB fiber for years.I can absolutely assure you that what we have from BOTH companies on Camposol is true fiber to the home, in fact I got a piece of the fiber off the engineer doing the termination just to show people how thin it actually is.

The fiber terminates into a GPON device for Telitec, I think this is the exact one: https://www.zyxel.com/products_services/GPON-SFU-with-1-port-GbE-LAN-PMG1005-T20B/

Telecable use a router with a built in GPON. I think this is the model: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/access-network/echolife-hg8546m-pid-21465065

GPONs are fiber access devices.
