Thank you for your information so did they mention if you had to leave €40  to cover Quarterly chargers or was there no mention. I know if you have products with them your less likely to have Chargers, our account purely for Direct  Debits hence why the €40 charge

Hi, no they made it very clear that if there is ANY money in the account they cannot close it. I did expect to pay a percentage of the quarterly charges, but there was none. My thoughts on this is that we paid the Sabadell charges in advance so all were covered. I can't see them letting us off. Separately, I have moved all my direct debits to my new Cajamar account.

I been searching online to close Bank Sabadell but doesnt gave option.I have searched on site to ask question but still doesn't advise. We are probably not able to get over until April not sure if we have to leave €40 to cover bank Chargers or just transfer all funds out.If you have any luck wit...

Try and get an email address for a member of staff who works in your branch. If you have a neighbour over there, ask them if they would get it for you.

When you have the contact, email him/her and request the account be cancelled as you are/have taken all the money from the account. It took me a while to discover this as the Sabadell main contact email never got a response. Make sure you transfer any DD's if you have any set up on the account first.

It worked for me, good luck.

I would not withdraw all your funds or you might get stung with overdrawn charges if the bank applies account charges.

I don't see why one cannot take all the money out of their account, the bank cant take money out of an empty account.

No they can’t  take money out of an account if there is none in, but that’s the point,  as Roland says they can charge for non payment of bills, hence overdrawn charges, until your satisfied all bills direct debits have been removed and transferred to your new account.
