Hi, With regards to Sabadell,( with whom I have banked with for 13 years) I was charged this month a quarterly 15 € fee for my Expansion account ,( Which has always been free)

They say they sent out an e mail last year ( Which I never saw ) to say as of March if you do not take any insurance, pensions etc with them you will no longer be able to have free banking, sow how is that for a legal rip off....

I have also set up all my Spanish direct debits up on TransferWise as well.

These days you don't really need a Spanish bank account.

Yes that is right. It's expensive for non residents but you need to consider service as well. My Sabadell branch have always been very helpful and speak good English as well. I suppose you get what you pay for.
