I don’t understand why some of these spoilt and selfish people can’t go without their holiday this year. Many pehave gone years without being able to have a holiday, let alone abroad, for one reason or another. Yet they just can’t go without and then moan when their plans have to be changed...

.... Aaaah!

just to add I am a Social Care Officer and have never stopped working, and so sorry Cat I feel I deserve a break with sun!!! would do my mental health good for sure.

A break in the sun would do everyone's mental health a world of good, however, this pandemic has moved everyone's goalpost.

Ok sorry my comment was a bit sweeping and did not, of course, include people who’ve been working their socks off and risking their own health throughout this crisis.

Can you imagine the expense and resources needed to do that?  There's a hell of a lot of countries as well as Spain on UKs red list.

If people keep to 'essential only' travel as advised, risk and spread would be minimal?

I don't think expense has ever been an issue for government on Covid control. It's already cost £400bn. I don't think a few extra million on staffing and testing at airports for arrivals from delisted countries would be an issue.

To be fair, I think the uk government has done the correct thing based on the spike in Spain

We are supposed to be flying on 0408 and will still do so assuming that easyjet does not cancel the flights like tui has

EasyJet says no future cancellation, we are flying out 30th August,

Job

Hope you are correct. We are scheduled to fly on 0408 and have already decided we will fly so long as easyjet don't cancel. With a detached villa with our own pool we dont need to go anywhere apart from the supermarket for food and drink and with masks, gloves and hand gel feel we are taking all possible precautions

Cant wait....

If you’ve already been on furlough your employer may be able to put you back on furlough for the 2 weeks of isolation but check first though

100% agreed i have worked 6 days a week through out and haven't had a break since xmas, i have a place in camposol and planned a 2 week break flying out 27th september so im hoping this might have changed by then, more than happy to sit by the pool and only go out to get essentials adhering to guidelines , but i definitely need a break in my 2nd home for my sanity and wellbeing.
