...ould we have this or that if we hadn't joined the EU but there is one absolute fact NO ONE KNOWS. we joined and it is what it is. Did Britain do the right thing? Wait and see because no one knows. Is it ok  to ALLOW the biggest companies in the world to steal billions of euros from the tax pot that should be used to fix potholes? I was born in the 60s Ann, but I live in the 21st century. I respect your opinions, however misguided. Ireland had potholes and one dual carriageway in the 60s, I will agree because you are telling me it had. Simple question. Can you tell me 100% that if Ireland had not joined the EU in 1973 they would not be in the same position, or better,  than they are right now? The correct answer is no one knows. You can always give me the wrong answer.

Doing lots of reading / listening about this, I truly believe spain will leave the eu at some point. As it appears Germany & France run the European Union & all other countries have to abide by there rules. Yes those 2 countries are dominant parties, but the idea of being A Union is that every country has a equal share on decisions , not be told by these 2 leaders.

Also spain is on its knees financially ( obviously covid hasn't helped ) but spain need tourists & foreigners buying property & businesses to help boost tax income & employment. 

Spain was a lot more financially better off as an independent state & yes they are helped with this being a member of the E U, but then they also have to contribute to be a member, whilst also having to be told how much & to whom they trade with.

There was a little whisper recently,  spain was getting fed up with being in the E U for various reasons,  but probably feel trapped being a member of state & also financially not being in a position financially to pay back the money borrowed. 

I feel over time spain will realise they have to deal with this. And in the mean time foreigners my look elsewhere to visit, buy, set up a business & employ local residents.  Portugal is already proving popular for this.

Thoughts appreciated.
