For 45 Euros I wouldn’t get so uptight about it, yes I agree it’s frustrating, but at the end of the day, if you was speeding you have a chance to get caught like the rest of us.

If you know you wasn’t speeding then ask for the photos/evidence.

There is a lot worse out there,

Another aside to the speeding issue, people use the channel ferries or train because they are the cheapest option. Once across the channel they are on to the autoroutes or national roads and drive like an bat out of hell’ to get to their destination, which usually means France or transitting France.

You can pay the fine by using the website that is prominent on the order to pay....and it is in English! The French are first-class at delivering fines and collecing money.

Just returned today from spain, found a french speeding fine waiting for €45. Tried paying it by card but there system won’t accept it, my argument is, I was following a line off cars french plated, doing the same speed as them, my number plate flashed up on gantry but not there’s, is this ...

...another corrupt french system to hit only Uk cars and not french cars, also said there tolerance is only one km above 110 km, so from now on my car will never put a tyre on french soil, Portsmouth to Santander from now on and no tolls, no hotels, and no corrupt speeding fines,so they now lost a lot off future income off tolls, hotels and diesel sales, viva la France, my arse.

I totally agree with you.  While we were driving through France last November 2019, I noticed a flasher, ah.  I said to my wife, I am not going to pay any fine because I was driving and observing the speed limit.  I haven't received any fine yet, and if it comes, I am not going to pay it. It cost quite a lot driving through France to reach Camposol, in terms of petrol and Toll charges.  I won't do it again.  Brittany Ferries will take the strain from now on.

We will be coming through Porstmouth to Santander from now on, no more fribies for French government.

If you think the French cops are bad...wait until you come up against the Spanish ones ...I was fined €200 for parking to close to a corner. ..no yellow lines nothing to say no parking...but they did make one concession ..if I paid within 7 days it would only be €150..I have passed this corne...

...r Hundreds of times since with cars parked with no tickets on the windscreen.

Hey my friend, Frequentflyer.  Is your car UK registered?  If so, they want your money and everything they can get from you.  That's discrimination in disguise, English V Spanish.  I have not been given ticket yet and hopefully, won't get one.

Seeing is believing Peter C, but I don't think I'm the only one, just been lucky.  Our friend here though is suggesting they are targeting Brits??

You are not the only one thinking along the same line.  They are targeting Brits, and it's not fair on good relationship and good housekeeping.  But if you are caught red handed, you have no choice but to pay, otherwise one will just prolong the agony.  Peel your eyes on the road, traffic warnings, and speed restriction.

Safe driving guys

I had exactly the same hapen to me near the pyranese driving through a town , I was driving pretty slowly as it was a built up area , cars were driving passed me at speed all French registration , then my car got flagged up for speeding ?????. Yes the French are totally corrupt and target British cars specifically. For those of you who  are thinking I was moaning I was doing 19 mph in a 30 mph speed limit , my fine was €45 for going over the speed limit.France will never see me again .

Acutely it was a hire car I had at the time it was plane to see this as it had a rental sticker on the rear window... when I went to pay the fine in the bank the Spanish guy on the counter agreed it was way over the top for a parking fine ..this was 11 year's back cost me €200 .

WOW what a stupid reply ,no doubt  your family are French , why would you be so stupid as to condone corruptness. For every 2000 cars that pass a speeding trap , all doing the same speed 1000 will be a British car , look at the maths 45x 1000 every week in one town.

11 years ago, there is no letting up French traffic corruption. So they've been at it for a very long time.  I think the police are passing on the corrupt ways down the line to the youths of today. Watch out for them.
