You can pay the fine by using the website that is prominent on the order to pay....and it is in English! The French are first-class at delivering fines and collecing money.

Agree, it was very conveniently presented and easily payment taken on their website when I found my first and only one speeding ticket posted last year to my house in UK. And I'm driving a lot up and down for eight years.  An issue was the temporary camera placed just after 90km/h speed limit has expired while me, cruise control on, didn't noticed that! Permitted exces  is only 1 km/h,  no wonder some get gutted getting speed tickets driving 19 or so miles per hour as it's probably about 52km/h in the town, let alone 30km/h speed zone! Dozens French cars I saw get flashed in those years or police chasing them and stopping,  last Sunday saw one in Rouen. Can see some attitude changing while driving with UK reg plate, but never been treated by police somehow differently just because of that. Some say others drive the same speed but their got picked up by cameras,  well it's the drivers responsibility to obey traffic rules, not to follow the crowds...

Just be careful,  pay attention to road regulations and drive safe!

Michael, as a driver, think I'd much prefer Santander.  As I'm also a dog family, my heart tells me, rightly or wrongly, go via France with the caravan.  Not sure of kennel conditions on such a long ferry crossing for my hound? As for the speeding fines, as with VAR in football, it's all changed since my day, but it's hard to argue facts with the camera.

Frequentflyer, our assumptions had been falsely expressed because your hired car would have had Spanish registered plate number. Therefore, the score was, Spanish Police 1 English Driver 0. 😂🤣. Unless of course, the police was just round the corner waiting for you before slapping you with a ticket.🤑

Get yourself a GPS with radar warning. Also the overhead flash system is not a camera that fines you, it is just a warning.

Why when you can fly for£20  each way would you drive all that way?

Not for me and I love driving. Give me a cheap Ryanair flight and hire car for 50 euros a week anytime.

Yep, I have decided no more driving, flying and hiring, less stressful and no speeding fines in France either, and no 38 hours on ferry each way
