Nobody has mentioned the tax rates applied to either an income or even a state pension income. The rate is dependent on the size of the income. Also All assets have to be declared as these have tax applied as well.

Update! those details i gave about getting your TIE are now wrong.Have enquired this morning for the Murcia region and here are the details, all i can say is they are going to be a lot of people who will not be able to meet these new Brexit rules and i would like to point out these should not be in force yet as Brexit hasnt taken place yet! this is whats required in addition to the info i gave earlier.

3 visits will be required to police station

6 months bank statements

Minimum balance 8000 euro in bank

Property deeds

just to clarify deeds and money not as before one or the other which seems balmy so basically if you dont own a property you cant get TIE ! go figure

Dont know exactly why they want 6 months statements  apart from showing you have a balance of 8000 euro, have long since given up on trying to understand spanish bureaucracy.Presume spanish bank

hi all perhaps if somebody is moving over after 31st of december and applying for residency could leave a guide to what is required at there earliest chance but obvs this wont be until next year but it would be a great guide to those that follow at a later date. i also heard we will have to take a spanish theory test in spanish to get a driving license will we be able to take a translator in or will there be an option for the questions to be in different languages like in blighty i recently did a speed aware course ikr 4 hours ill never get back but even then there was a polish asian and another translator present just to put the cat among the proverbial

The 6 months bank statements are to prove your monthly income is  regular.   You only need to show a big bank balance once. I do think quite a few people are going to be very shocked with the new rulings. These are the people  who said nothing will change....

Yes your right, my beef is everyone was under the impression these new requirements would not come into force until brexit had taken place  according to my solicitor this came into force at the beginging of july! have seen no mention of these new requirements in any of the press and why hasnt the british govt informed us.Really think the spanish are shooting themselves  in the foot bearing mind how much expats contribute to economy.

The Spanish didn't vote for Brexit.

Spain (and other EU countries) now have the additional burden of implementing new rules that they didn't ask for.

Nobody voted for Covid either.

Britain will be a 3rd Country soon, and Brits in Europe will be treated as such.

The UK Govt could call a delay (while the world sorts out Covid), and the EU has invited this, but they refuse to do so.

Exactly - you've hit the nail on the head! The only ones to blame for all this is the UK government and the voters who thought that Brexit would be a good idea. Now, they and everyone else will have to suffer accordingly.
