Well said, the Mar Menor is certainly not the place to buy.

Hi I wonder how many times you have visited the Mar Menor?

Where there were the main problems of fish dying etc was and has been for many years in the areas around Los Urriutias. Los Nietos, Mar De Crystal, Playa Honda all of these places have fields bordering on them that have been farmed for many years and the run off from fertilizers has been causing server contamination.

I was swimming in the lagoon constantly in the summer and have no bad affects also remember that in San Pedro Del Piniatar people go there and submerse themselves in the mud for its healing properties.

Yes there has been flooding issues in some of the towns and villages but that is prevalent throughout Spain not having the drainage systems of country's that suffer from constant downpours.

Bill Is incorrect on many points about Camposol

Properties are very attractively priced, because they are of poor quality build, compared to most of post 2000 Spanish properties.

What are these 2000 Spanish properties you are referring to? Please clarify. By the way, although not really relevant, it was an Englishman, Dennis Lehey who introduced the prefabricated style build to the Promotoras Masa.

a) Foundations are questionabl?. The reason the properties are built on pillar like construction is Camposol is on an earthquake fault and this type of construction alleviates server damage during tremors.

b) Ground water levels can be very high? This can be said of any land but where is the proof to show Camposol is any higher than any other area.

c) Ventilation and damp proof courses are non-existent? Damp proofing is basically non existent in any property in Spain or Mediterranean countries, in fact when I was working in Hungary the properties there had no damp proofing and that is not a dry country. Ventilation is normally obtained by opening a window, I did not see any properties on Camposol without any windows.

d) Wall and roof insulation is non-existent. All of the prefabricated wall have a layer of bubble polystyrene in them, I had seen them being manufactured.

e) The flow of ground water in the case of heavy rainfall is unpredictable? This is a case throughout the world as is the flow of laver from a volcano.

Camposol and the Mar Menor (although the Mar Menor is not a particular urbanisation) have many pluses and minuses a small example Camposol has many shops supermarkets bars restaurants medical centres all within easy reach,

Los Urrurtias where the original posters location is shown  is dead in the winter months and when I visited in the summer was also not very busy. yes it has a medical centre. a hotel (if it is open)  but no large supermarkets or the facilities that Camposol or many other towns and villages on the Mar Menor. I often drive through all of the costal towns when going to Cartagena, which I do at least once a week and unfortunately the end near La Manger is always not very busy

Where I live now in Santiago La RIbera I have all of the facilities of Camposol and many more including the beach all within 5 minuets walk, I am not in anyway promoting any of these areas, it is an individuals choice and no one should decry or really praise an area unless they have lived there or at least spent a considerable time exploring and enjoying all of the facilities on offer.

The legal fights going on seem to be profitable and of relevant use to the participants it is a shame that worldwide some legal action can continue for years with solicitors barristers and courts being the only beneficiary of the current action, perhaps there will be an outcome but do not expect it soon or that everyone will benefit from the result, as in the uk the legal profession are the only winners and the outcome is usually so complex that us mere mortals do not understand the implications of the decision until you get a letter to tell you the cost to you

Urbanisations are NOT all the same, Camposol is a great one, with a fantastic community, and that is one BIG plus.

Some of our friends live on a near urbanisation, and could not even tell you their neighbors names, thats sad, and as you get older, you need good neighbors, you never know when you may need help....

...

With the world wide virus, Camposol was safe, every one looked out for each other, and we are self sufficient with all shops, bank, petrol station, post office, bars, cafes, health centre, big supermarket etc, all on site, all very important, some communities have nothing.

Properties sell, and are purchased very well, paper work is no problem, thats what solicitors are for, and our Camposol councilor, Silvana will advise, and help at all times.

Buying without seeing is probably not the normal way, how ever some do, and are very happy with their purchase.

If you are looking for the perfect Spanish urbanisation, you will not find it, every one has problems, its how the community manages this, and takes care of each other that is so important.

Good luck, but you will not beat us for a caring community.

Not sure what you mean, ( how safe do they feel with their purchase ) whats not safe? all is safe thats why we buy and enjoy.

Well said, communuty spirit is everything and was very noticable when we visited only 4 weeks ago, I witnessed the volunteers cleaning and tidying up the area and everyone had a smile on thier faces and were enjoying thier work..........gave a donation to their collection box and thought to myself I will be very happy to be a part of this lovely community very soon as we have bought a Clasico on sector c and cannot wait to go for my first christmas day   swim over there.

We also have a classical on sector c.

And I was there as recently as last week and everytime I go there I struggle with the fact I have to come back to the UK.

I know all the people on my street at camposol but hardly know any of my neighbors in the UK.

Camposol is a fantastic place to be.

Bang on, its a fantastic community, every one helps each other, never found in the UK these days.

Camposol is now on the way up, with millions to be spent on projects, and the roads.

We were knocked for years, but watch us now, things will be very good in the next few years.

A very good investment place for property purchase.

Well done, fully agree, Camposol is a great place to be, and now with millions to be spent on it, we will be the BIZZ.

While I can understand why Camposol is not everyone's cup of tea, for us it is a fantastic place. We love the quiet and solitude on sector D and yet the close proximity to amenities and the coast is perfect for us

There is no doubt that the community spirit is second to none

With the anticipated influx of funding I hope that the owners of the hotel finish what they bought as it will only enhance Camposol even more. Get the bridge fixed, roads repaired and lighting improved and that will be a massive step in the right direction for both the residents and the council

Well done and good luck to everyone who owns/runs businesses and hopefully they will return to normal and prosper next year

All will be done now, it will start shortly, a great deal of money is now coming in, yes we will need more, but what a fantastic start.

Watch the property prices rise.
