Any advice re buying in Camposol please? Thinking of early Retirement there. On my own. Was a Carer for elderly Mum for almost 10 years. Feel exhausted and need to get away to a warmer climate and have an easy stress free Lifestyle.

Interested in joining some Groups/Classes but would like to live in non Touristy area. Like open Markets, Beaches, Swimming, Walking. Like to Cook/entertain....

...

Value good Friends and good Company.  Intersted in doing a little Voluntary work to give back. Any/all suggestions welcome on any ofthe above.

Thanks a mill

Hi Miriam,

Well you would have a job to beat Camposol if you are looking for sun, and no stress, along with easy reach beaches, good community, plenty of clubs to join, lots of walking, and easy made friends.

Very pleased to hear you would like to do a bit of voluntary work, it would be most welcomed on Camposol, would be nice if many more thought that way.

You get a great deal for your money here.

Of course Camposol has its problems, but the Camposol Residents Association work hard to get them solved.

You will find there are the Takers and the Givers, sadly many more Takers than givers.

The Givers do a great job in helping others, and supporting charity, and helping those in need.

There are Garden parties who do a great job keeping Camposol look good, but sadly others who just do not bother.

So my advice is to come and stay a while first, rent, look out everthing, ask questions, travel around.

Subject to your circumstances you will need to look up all the new requirements of being a resident, finance, and health care are important, and a requirement.

Good luck.

Hi Miriam,

welcome to a lovely community, i would speak with Dawn at 2let2sell2buy as she will tell you what you need to know and not what she thinks you want to know, she is very down to earth and very straight talking, she could sort you out a short term rental so you can get to know the area without commitment and then help you through the buying process if you decide that is best for you, there are plenty of solicitors but you need to find one that is on your side and protects your interests, we used MMB in Mazarron, they are English speaking with German efficiency they will do everything for you not the cheapest but extremely honest, as you are a resident of ROI you wont need to go through the hoops of us Brits so the process for you will be a lot easier regarding settling in Spain

you will find a lot of really nice knowledgeable people on here with the occasional Keyboard Warrior but most just ignore them, also look up the Camposol Residents Association great bunch of people

things are changing for the better and this can only mean great times ahead for us all, there is plenty to get yourself involved with and anything that you can do locally is always appreciated

have fun

Hi Lee,

Could you let us know what things are changing for the better, very interested in what you think, as you hear and see so much that needs doing, but nothing seems to progress.

Thanks.

Hi,

We appear to be seeing a number of improvements with Mazarron council taking a slightly better interest in our urbanisation, the potential fir the dual carriageway between C and D being started once agreement finalised, more volunteer groups, more people coming here with a fresh outlook

Lots of things to look forward too, Mazarron council carrying out good proper repairs for our hard earned council tax

More people actually investing in their properties and less going to ruin or being abandoned, less people shouting our beautiful place in the sun down

Lots to be happy about we just need more buy in from more locals

Interesting, I constantly ask the CRA what is happening to the 1.9 million Euros awarded to Camposol that the Mazarron council is holding, no answer, but if you watch carefully things are being built, ie, walking dog park, football pitch, who makes these decisions, and are the council spending our money, the money awarded is for the upgrade of Camposol, as stated by the Judge. ( lighting would be good )

Then the 880 thousand Euros for the re surfacing of the bad roads on C/D I am told they are simply filling in the pot holes.

Yes its good to see people investing in their homes,

Mazarron council openly admit they have no interest in Camposol, and challenge everything that we need, so much so that we are paying thousands to solicitors and law firms to fight them.

As you state good proper repairs being carried out, but what??? Lights not working, roads in a poor state, no police cover,

IBI is not used for any thing on Camposol, if it was we would have a fantastic urbanisation.

However, just look at the latest upgrade of P/ Mazzaron, and ask yourself where has that money come from ???

Yes you may say this is all negative, but ask the CRA who are fighting for Camposol, if the council took a interest, and spent money, there would be no fight.

Its good to talk.

Thanks.

Interesting, I constantly ask the CRA what is happening to the 1.9 million Euros awarded to Camposol that the Mazarron council is holding, no answer. - This was not an award it was part of the bank guarantees that Justo y Manoli lodged with the banks and it was  a larger amount. We have a solicitor trying to find out exactly what the detail is as the Town Hall have not told us despite our solicitors being involved. The solicitors have gone back to the courts to find out the legal detail.

Then the 880 thousand Euros for the re surfacing of the bad roads on C/D I am told they are simply filling in the pot holes.   Yes they fixed a load of potholes pre Christmas but that has nothing to do with the project that will start when all the planning is complete. We are awaiting an update from the Town Hall.

Yes its good to see people investing in their homes,

Mazarron council openly admit they have no interest in Camposol, and challenge everything that we need. This applies to some of the Town Hall politicians but not all. There have been some activities completed to keep the natives happy but they are in line with the Town Hall approach of little by little. The CRA are trying to get the bigger projects done and is now a part of a round table including the Region, the CHS and the Town Hall which is reviewing one option in dealing with the homes built in the Rambla. We are awaiting a report from the meeting held in September last year.

Are  good proper repairs being carried out?  Lights not working, roads in a poor state, no police cover. The developer and the Town Hall are guilty as charged - the amount of money required to complete these activities runs into millions of euros. Hence a reluctance by the Town Hall to fix everything. The CRA feel that some of the issues on public roads should be addressed as a matter of urgency for health and safety reasons as well as Security but again we need more support from the residents and we also have had to bring in lawyers and talented fixers from outside of Murcia to tackle the problem.

IBI is not used for any thing on Camposol, if it was we would have a fantastic urbanisation. IBI collected is used by the Region as well as the Town Hall  and is no where near the amount required to fix all the problems.

However, just look at the latest upgrade of P/ Mazzaron, and ask yourself where has that money come from ???   The Town Hall has access to Regional funding and European Monies which helps them develop resources in the Town. Also you are talking about a lot more money collected from the residents of Mazarron as opposed to the residents of Camposol. Runs into millions.

Yes you may say this is all negative.  The CRA   are fighting for Camposol, but there resources are at an all time low just when they have an excellent legal team and have their feet under the table.

Yes actions speak louder than words and thats what we are trying to do.

Good answers, I fully support what you do, I wish every single resident on Camposol would do so also.

If the Council know there is no 100% support amongst Camposol reisidents, they will always ignore the issues.

My plea would be to every resident, support the CRA, get involved, pay the yearly fee so we can fight for what is needed, its then that we will all win.

Come on every one, its our urbanisation, lets make it great as it should be.
