I very rarely agree with said person who has lived here for so long as he will tell you, but he does sometimes speak a lot of sense, it is then up to the poster whether they take any notice, if you don't want the good and bad then it's simple just ask for positives and then you can find out the bad for yourself, oh by the way I've lived here 3 years longer than said person.....enjoy

Hi and thanks for replying,

I asked for advice or recommendations and absolutely want to hear both good and bad, otherwise not much point in asking. Obviously people's opinions will differ depending on their experiences and likes and dislikes, but having an insight from a variety of different people is definitely helpful.

I have looked at lots of posts on this forum and can see, as is always the case online, that sometimes, it's not necessarily what's been said but how different people interpret it.

I have found all the replies helpful, some very funny (humour helps) and am grateful to all who took the time to reply ๐Ÿ˜Š

All the best for your new life in the sun. We purchased our place in the sun on D, 3 years ago and have loved every minute of our time there.... Except for the IKEA episode, but we won't go in to that ๐Ÿ˜‚. We have 117 days till we move to Camposol and start our retirement, not that im counting! Enjoy your adventure.

BTW Big thanks to Shaun at expat for the videos ๐Ÿ‘

Hi Steve,  thanks for the reply ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have mixed feelings about IKEA lol so won't press you on that one.

Glad you like it there and good luck with the move.

I'll second that about Shaun, I've been watching him again this morning ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hi, thanks for replying and the good luck wishes Jok ๐Ÿ˜Š

That's the plan, we're in no rush and are in a position to take a step back for a little while anyway.

People will be able to spot me a mile off, I'll be the only one without a tan ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Shaun's videos are execellent and very true to the point.  We watched all the negative Youtube videos and gladed that we took no notice. We visited a few places and then Camposol, saw a few houses and fell in love with the very last one and we bought it there and then. We love the villa and the region. Welcome to Camposol and enjoy the sun >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hello again ๐Ÿ˜Š

We have watched all kind of videos, both good and bad but decided just to see for ourselves. I'm glad you liked it that much ๐Ÿ˜Š

He is great isn't he? No nonsense, down to earth and honest.

Thanks for the welcome

Be aware the heat in July and August can be very hot, 35-40c   Most of the locals get up very  early to work and pack in about 2pm, and quite a few expats go back to the UK to avoid the heat.  The rest of the year is good for building.  Good luck.
