... buying from a reputable dealership who have a name to protect. We came across several cars at the time in various dealerships, Fiat, Renault, Mitsubishi etc. that would have suited our needs.
One thing to watch out for is the Padrón. He told us he needed one and we were between houses at the time having sold one but had not yet bought another. Bear in mind that the Padrón is only for confirmation of your address so that notifications of fines, upcoming ITV tests etc. can be sent to your confirmed address. Not everyone has or needs a Padrón but if you own a property or have a rental contract this will suffice as confirmation. We weren't told that and instead registered our car in our daughter's name as she had a Padrón, as a temporary measure. It cost over €420 to have the car re registered to my husband subsequently. An expensive mistake and an unnecessary one. Hope this helps and you find what you are looking for.
Many thanks - very useful advice.
