Remember the travelling time from .Alicante to Isla Plana, curfew is 10pm so not much time for a full supermarket shop.
There has been no curfew since last spring!

We are arriving at Alicante airport late afternoon on new years eve and travelling to Isla Plana. Please can you advise what time the main supermarkets will be closing on that day so we can stock up as I know they will all be closed on the 1st.
Many thanks
Thank you very much for all your replies.

Before commenting on the post I researched all the government bulletins and could find nothing about a current curfew anywhere in Spain. I prefer to take note of official posts on laws and such rather than the word of a village restauranteur!
If anyone could publish a link to an official source it would be great....

Having said that, depending on the flight time it may be best to do a shop as soon as you land. Google "supermarkets near Alicante airport" then check out their entry nearer the time to see what their hours will be?
Village restauranteur? I suggest you leave Brit press and your housing estate for a while and visit places in the region of Murcia where you have chosen to reside. Fuente Alamo is a large market town mid way between Cartagena and Murcia City, the largest town to Murcia IAP. The predominantly Spanish population supports 3 big supermarkets, Consum, Dias & Mercadona plus Spar shops in the districts.

I would suggest you get a few essentials from any petrol station with attached shop, unless you have a helpful neighbour who can get something in for you.
You may not be lucky enough to catch a supermarket before it closes so buy the bare necessities until you are able to do a full shop.
Good luck,
Janice

Try Tel’s Bar Sector A, the Argentinian restaurant in the port, the tapas & bar by the church in Fuente, have they all got Murcia restrictions wrong?
Theres no curfew they've all got it wrong, or you misunderstood
I would indeed try to shop in Elche, near Alicante airport. Or try to find a gas station with Carrefour shop. These are very reasonable priced and have a great selection of food and drinks at supermarket prices.
Edit: supermarket Consum in Torrellano (very close to airport) is open until 19:30 on december 31.
