Hi,
We are thinking of driving to Spain from the UK with our dog could any one that has done this recently please tell us what we need to do re covid and any thing extra needed other than a pet passport and health certificate please.

Make sure your dogs vet signs every page on the passport and a Tate worm from local vets in Spain for the return. We came by the pont Brittany ferry and had our dog in the ferry kennels. Stopped halfway after 4 hours driving at Madrid Pullman airport hotel as they are dog friendly. Easy enough travels

Thank you and is the covid tests you have to get the same as when you fly like day 2 test you have to get before you fly is that the same for driving?

Yes absolutely the same, a simple antigen test can be done before flight or ferry, 72 hours beforehand and can be obtained at any medical centre in town. They will cost about 20-30 euros. On the return journey a PCR 2 day test requirements for entering UK which code will be on your returning locator form. Most news agents have a printer machine for your form printing, it's all easy done

Don’t leave too late to book appointment - at one point some were booked solid for a fortnight…
Coming from the UK without residency and an EU vaccination certificate, bring an antigen test with you to do before you set off to the UK.
