Hotel is finished and fully open, so please don't talk tosh Ginger. As for a 'wilderness., what planet are you on? Have you ever been to La Torre? (why make things up or guess when you don't actually know the facts?)
Given the damage caused by the Gota Fria several years back, particularly to the basement and infrastructure of the hotel, we were all delighted that new owners invested so heavily to get it back open and running again.
The hotel has hosted several football teams for fair weather training in the past couple of months alone and the rumour is that England's Lioness' will be staying next month. Can't imagine they would stay in an unfinished hotel, along with a host of guests this summer
The golf course is not currently for sale and is owned by GNK, who also own 3 other courses. Apparently the course at Condado is potentially up for sale, as reported in Murcia Today.
It is a real shame that a lot of the 'general' areas on La Torre are not open, but this is down to unrealistic rental requirements from the owners (whoever they are!)
Rental for the golf shop went up to €100k per annum when the lease was up for renewal, hence the reason they moved onto their own property on the golf course. Not great, but in these hard times, totally understandable, especially after two tough Covid years with hardly any income for the golf courses and their owners.
There is a huge square meterage of general areas in the town centre that has been unoccupied since it was built. It would take a massive investment from someone to develop, but residents are ever hopeful.
Hopefully reality kicks in and the owner of the various properties decides that realistic rental income is better than no rental income. We can but hope.
We currently have three bars and three restaurants on site, plus the Woodhouse (beside the golf course) which is open until 6/7pm serving drinks and food. (This doesn't count outlets in the hotel itself!)
A lot better than most resorts in the area, so hopefully residents and guests will continue to support, perhaps encouraging others to try their luck and open new ventures.
