I've just checked Coy's site and they are very expensive from Alicante, (328€ for 2 weeks plus fuel), and they don't seem to have a decent fuel policy either.

Hi. Yes i always book through DoYouSpain and hire cars about six times a year. My list of decent companies is diminishing, so I hope OK Cars will be 'OK' this time. Good value at 36€ plus 28€ refilling charge for two weeks. As I hire a lot of cars I have my own annual excess insurance which brings the cost down considerably.
I can recommend Wiber cars. They are new and I've used them twice this year for long periods, and they were very reasonable for brand new, top of the range, automatic high end cars. Unfortunately they can't help me this time, probably because of half term!
I'll update on my experience with OK Cars.

Hi
Had to hire a few cars this year as had problems with our car.
I used DoYouSpain as I have done on many occasions over the years as they are a good rental broker.
This time I took out there top excess policy in case I did have a problem!
Each time I rented from Goldcar (4 times in all) then the last time they deducted 150 euros from my cc saying there was a small scratch?
I queried this wit them and asked for proof however no joy.
I decided to claim of the policy from D Y S which I believed to be good as it was Zurich backed. However to cut a very long story short since the 23rd May when the claim was submitted I have still not been paid and have now submitted all the details to the insurance omnibus man.
So beware .

Thank you for your helpful advice. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience too with Goldcar/ Rhodium too. Is there a trading standards agency in Spain we could report them too?

Hi
I went to the insurance omnibus man as DYS insurance is English based.
The trading standard agency / Consumer department are unfortunately not the same as the UK.
You can obtain a complaint sheet that must be completed in triplicate then signed by both parties (if the company refuses to sign you have the right to call the police) it is then taken to the required office where they stamp, contact the company and look into the matter. If the company do not reply you are then told by the agency you can take your own legal action???
My wife is Spanish and a civil servant of long standing and I have lived in Spain for many years, we made a complaint about a large company not fulfilling there obligations and contract, they did not reply. So no joy.unfortunately
Sorry folks know this is slightly off topic but just experience.

Has anyone had experience with OK Car Rentals at Alicante? Going out again in a couple of weeks and didn't realise it's half term, so there is a shortage of cars at the right price! I don't include Goldcar or Dickmans in my search (had problems with them before) so I've booked with OK, but can ca...

Hi I have used OK cars in Alicante quite a few times since last October. Not had a problem with them. They are off airport but their shuttle service is efficient, there can be a lack of check in staff but the longest wait I had was 30 minutes one Saturday evening. If you find any damage on the car that’s not clearly shown on paperwork you just mark up your copy, take it back to the desk and they will countersign it to say you reported it. Only issue for me is that their office closes at 10pm and being off airport it can be tight to get there in time so have used other hire companies instead (no problem with them either up to now!)

Thank you for this. I shall bear it in mind if I go to Alicante. Murcia airport is much nearer. My advice to anyone at any airport is avoid
Goldcar/Rhodium.

Hi. Thanks for your input. It's always good to hear the experience of other's good or bad. I'll keep checking before I go as I really like to have an automatic. Arriving about 8.30pm, so checking the car in the dark is never easy!
