We bought a brand new car from a dealer in Cartagena - just had to produce passport and a copy of a recent utility bill.

You will also need your NIE but other than that, nothing apart from the funds to pay for the vehicle which we transferred by Wise from UK to our Spanish bank and then did a bank transfer to the dealership.

Given this was all happening around Christmas time, the only delay was the time it took for the car to arrive from Madrid to Cartagena.

We had no problems.

Did find that car insurance here was more expensive than we were paying in UK, but then we were only paying just over £100 fully comp which was extremely cheap compared to the "average".
