You've bought a property in Spain and the language that is spoken in your local Ayuntamiento is Castellano! It's not up to them to supply you with a translator if you don't understand something that refers to your property. Then you should take someone who speaks Spanish with you to translate or ...

...better still, make an effort to learn the language sufficiently to be able to handle your own affairs. I sincerely doubt that your local town hall in the UK has any Spanish-speaking staff on hand to deal with any Spanish residents in the area!

My issue was not that no one spoke english. Of course I do not expect everybody to speak english. My issue was the late charges as I had already supplied all my details including email address to receive all bills so I could pay them promptly, which I prefer to do.... but I received no bills. I also tried several ways to pay including online & through the bank & solicitor to no avail.

Thanks  - hopefully this is the case.

Does anyone know if this garbage collection charge is called 'Basura'? As it looks like this is noted as a charge on our water bill from Aqualia. Could this be correct?! If you are with Aqualia too it may be worth checking your bill maybe.

I am awaiting for clarification from my solicitor.

Hope you get things sorted.

Thanks

Ryan

I have just had confirmation from my solicitor that the garbage collection(Basura) is included as part of the water bill from Aqualia.

Our apartment is in San Pedro so not sure if the location makes a difference but may be worth checking your water bill perhaps?

All the best

Thanks

Ryan

Thank you Ryan for your help with this. Yes, the charge is for basuras. I can not see it on my water bill  but yes I am also with aqualia. I will have to check this out further....in the event that I may have paid twice.
