Looking for a job: Care worker

Good afternoon, myself and my hubby will be hopefully moving to this are in the next year or so , he will be retired but I will need to work , my experience is working in the care industry from caring for the elderly right through to working with children with physical and intellectual disabilities in a school environment also ,I was wondering what my chances are in finding this type of work...thanks all ...p.s we are both irish!!

Unemployment in Spain is very high and wages are about 2/3rds of UK / Eire wages, so you should bear that in mind.

Also, unless you can find a care home or other facility that specialises (at least partly) in care for English-speaking clients, then you will need to be fluent in Spanish; and even in a facility that caters for English-speakers, you would need good conversational Spanish to communicate with other staff, management, etc.

However, it's a worthy occupation and I sometimes see posts on here asking for recommendations for care / nursing homes for elderly Brits, so I expect that there are some that offer this service and, therefore, want suitably qualifies & experienced staff.

Thanks soo much for your positive feedback on this , I'll keep an eye out , failing that , I'm willing to do shop work or restaurant work , so let's see ..
