Hi Pauline, thanks for the info on car purchase and associated costs, really helpful. We are ‘hoping’ (like you second jab dependent) to come over late May/June and we will get some insurance costs etc then for future years of travel. We priced up Brittany Ferries and traveling through Spain ...

...with our own car but that works out very expensive. Just wish Cartagena had car ferry
facilities, maybe they will in the future. hope you get your second jab soon! Thanks again

Regards Angela

Hi Angela

Yes it's vaccines permitting to our next visit. We,ve been doing the 9daysx2 since 2018 expecting Brexit to happen earlier than it did, so only 2 visits per yr. Brittany ferries are expensive especially if you,re doing many shorter visits per year. We are members so you are welcome to use our code (S0267G, surname Savage) which gets you 10% off your fares(not cabin).

Regards

Pauline

If you are planning on travelling over & staying for a while and bringing your own car and were also considering Brittany Ferries, then would you just drive down through France?

It's 24 hrs+ on the ferry, plus another day's drive from Santander / Bilbao down to Murcia -versus- an early morning channel tunnel crossing, then 2 day's driving down to, say, Narbonne, for a night in a hotel and then the next day to your destination. £200 return on the tunnel, £400 return fuel and £100 for 2 night's hotel stays. You could break up the journey more and see a bit of France on the way too...

Hi Rich, thats also an option we hadnt thought about thanks.
This trip we have decided to fly as we are now only coming over for 5 weeks . Such a pity this 90 rule is going to be enforced so rigidly scuppers a lot of plans 🥴!
