Totally agree Bob. Perhaps my sarcasm lost - apologies.
Although some may not have had a negative experience with Goldcar, a simple Google search will show that they are one of the biggest 'rip-off' merchants in the business!
I can vouch, by experience, and would advise anyone to avoid using them like the plague!
Sean95 is one of the few that have not had any exposure to their shady dealings.
Of course, if you use Goldcars' insurance at their exorbitant rates, you won't have any issues, but then you might as well go with one of the major rental companies.
Goldcar lure you in with cheap 'headline rates' then either bully customers to purchase their own insurance, or if not successful, will then rip customer off with 'alleged' damages when returning the car. (first hand experience!)
AVOID AT ALL COST!

Totally agree,I once had an issue with Goldcar stating I had returned the car empty and was subsequently charged for the fuel.
Thant won’t cover you no matter what insurance you have, even if you take out their rip off insurance, fortunately I had photos and milage records to prove otherwise, only then did a lady called Victoria back down and issued me my well earned money back.if you take out there own insurance you get stung right from the beginning as well as the end!
So yes AVOID GOLDCAR AT ALL COSTS.

Many many years ago “before I saw the light”😂 I rented off Goldcar. I parked it on a street and came back to it to find someone driving past has put a small chip in the exterior of the wing mirror. I had taken out what I thought was their recommended insurance. When I returned the car they said “that is not covered, it is not “NORMAL” damage!!!! They charged me 600 € for replacement and labour etc. i contacted a Seat dealer and they said to me the maximum cost included labour would be 240 €. Needless to say I went back to Goldcar and they refunded me as a matter of “goodwill “ 100 € and said their administration made a slight mistake. I know of a number of other people/friends who have had similar issues especially underneath the vehicle that I would suggest 99% of renters (including myself) never check so get charged for something they did not damage. Problem is as otters have said they are cheap initially and when a family arrives at the airport all stressed and just want to get to their accommodation they will generally sign anything. If they were the last hire company in Spain I would hire a horse & cart.
