If you rent a car at Centauro or at Corvera airport can it be driven anywhere in Spain or are there any limitations on mileage for a week or two weeks?

Usually unlimited mileage and anywhere in Spain is ok with Centauro if booking direct with them, excellent company to deal with.

(Read the small print to be certain)

There are discount codes about

If you are going to Portugal or France for example you will have to pay a supplement, probably for insurance purposes.

Brokers sometimes have options ie with firely limited and unlimited milage.

I would strongly advice against using Goldcar (My experience)

If you need any further information don’t hesitate to get in touch

Hope that helps

Hi there , I would also not use/recomend Goldcar again. Took mine back after 2.5 weeks rental and the guy at alicante airport was on his hands and knees with a porch looking for a single mark to try and charge me the 1200 euro damage deposit  !. Stay well clear and use the more well known rental companies, more expensive but no hassle on the return.

True, Goldcar does look at the bodywork through a microscope etc. But if you have your own insurance, what does it matter. I always use Carjet which will likely end up being a Goldcar hire. They did report back a tiny mark on the bodywork on my last hire. They said it was level one damage which would cost me 120 euros. Fine , 'cos I'd have claimed my own insurance anyway. Turns out that Goldcar never did charged my credit card for it. 67 euros plus local taxes for 10 days car hire. I'm not complaining!

I understand where you are coming from.

My opinion is it matter a lot.

They shouldn’t be using under handed tactics, at the end of the day they are making a lot of extra money out of knowing you can just claim off your insurance.

Eventually our car hire excess insurance will go up to cover the increased costs.

Centauro for example have a guide of just over the size of a 50p piece, Firefly is over 10mm damage.

Having said that Centauro have only ever glanced over my hire cars, never had an issue, firefly have only glanced over cars.

Record car do scrutinise the car.

Especially for what they charge these days, you think they would try to keep a loyal base of customers.

Good advice to check the car over before returning and taking photos etc. Maybe consider running it through the carwash if you've had it a couple of weeks. If you have the time you could go round the car with their agent inspecting on return.

Just saying I've had several rentals from Goldcar without issue except that minor thing I mentioned which came to nothing anyway. They seem to get a lot of bad press which I think isn't that well justified. Obviously just take care like you said and you'll be ok

To be honest i usually ask for a car that's not new ! and has alot of character ie. dents & scratches as such as less chance of getting hit with costs on returning the vehicle. Fortunately i didn't get charged when the guy pointed out a mark that was hardly visable so must have thought twice about it as nothing hit my credit card.

Out again this Saturday for 2 weeks In Sucina and using Drivalia at Alicante for the first time , see how that goes !!.

Always take photos of car before and after including the mileage, photos of fuel levels and your receipt when you filled up, (firefly and Record car want to see the receipt for fuel within 10 km from your drop off point too.

And yes I always hive it a quick jet wash and tell them I washed the car.
