No such thing as cheap car hire anymore...need to really work at it in finding what works for you ...do a load of faff like the gold car replies...or avoid them like the plague..I haven't got a good word to say about them ...I When I hired cars in days gone buy I went with non airport based firms who charged the real price but no add ons or ridiculous demands oninsurance and fuel and the scandalous alleged damage confidence tricks.. whichever way you go do your honework
