Hi Trisha

We bought in Sucina  18 months ago and can't speak highly enough of it. Even though it's a holiday home at the moment we have found our dream place in the sun and can't wait to retire here...we wish you well in your search.

Regards

Ade & Aelwen

Thank you for your reply Heather. Im am so excited about the prospect of moving to Spain and a little impatient, I have to say.

We are quite a bit older than you both but young at heart (63 and 65) and are really looking forward to a different way of life. We do still intend to carry on working for a few years because we love what we do and it will be easy the majority of the time with computers and broadband....

...

I just want to get away from cold, wet, miserable winters! I was brought up in Adelaide until my early 20s so I know there is more to life!

I hope we can meet up once we get our 'home in the sun'!

Regards

Trish and Melvyn

My husband and I (64 and 62) just bought a house on Camposol section B. We are now waiting for the purchase to be finallized.

As soon as the keys are available, we will go for several weeks to do some painting and garden work. Can hardly wait to leave

grey and rainy Belgium !

That sounds perfect! We are looking at 2/3 bed with 2 baths as a must. A pool would be a bonus but I doubt we will get that... However, we can save up for one.

This is just so exciting isn't it? I'm doing jobs around our house to keep my mind occupied otherwise I think I would explode with impatience!...

...

Will you be going out to Spain to see how your house is coming along?

Trish

Hi Sharon... we found our dream Casa in a place called El Niño de Mula, a very small town near the larger Mula. It’s about an hours drive from Alicante and San Javier and we have everything on our wish list... a pool, balcony, wood fire, detached, 2 beds, 2bath and an office, bbq and bread oven, peace and quiet and lovely neighbours and stunning views. We bought last May and although we run a business here in MK we have connection to the internet and find we can do most things from Spain. We now have the best of both worlds.

My wish now is to spend more time in El Niño.

Did you say you are living in Australia? I used to live in Glenelg, south Australia.

Trish

We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a private pool. Just look around and wait for the perfect opportunity :-)

Hi Trisha, How are you getting on in Spain? just read lots posts trying to do as much research as possible.

Im new to all this, looking for some advice. my family are planning on coming out ,we will rent our Uk home and rent in Spain initially.  I have a 5 yr old boy and 2 dogs we are looking for a safe environment for the family to live for 12 months so we can have a good feel for the area and make sure its right for us. we are fed up with being stuck indoors with the long winters in the UK, we want more outdoor living for our son . My partner works all over the world, not looking for employment just new start with better weather. we want to be walking distance to a shop, bakery bit of life but no madness loud bars. mostly a safe place.

Hi everyone. Im new to the Forum and hoping to learn lots and make friends before we take the plunge to purchase a home in Spain. We have friends who live on Camposol but Im really taken with the Sucina area so Im hoping on our next visit we might find our dream home somewhere nearby.

Hi Trish,

welcome to the forum.

We love Sucina and there is a great expat community. There are monthly Ladies/gents lunches and lots of community events and not forgetting the great fiestas.

We bought a villa on the urbanization 3 years ago and we flit between the UK and Spain and each time we leave Spain, it's always heart wrenching and can't wait for our next trip.

We had an apartment for many years on Las Ramblas and we would alway have a mooch around Sucina. We just loved the cultural feel of the town. We found a buyer at the right time and found our dream home.

We have great neighbours, of all nationalities and everyone looks out for each other.

Good luck with your search.

Louise & Rick x
