That's amusing... we are just 7 mins drive from an Aldi!

I can't wait to start our new life in Spain.

It's so exciting!

Haha... ours is a very easy straight drive... very handy. Mula is a lovely old town with oodles of history... we are going to enjoy exploring. And El Nino and Mula have loads of restaurants! Yum.

Hi, we have recently decided, if we don't take the plunge and do it now we never will ! Always dreamed of leaving the UK to move abroad. If we sell up will prob have 150k so need to buy somewhere, aiming to get somewhere that has two bedrooms so kids can come visit, for around 80k, leaving 70k. T...

...hen thinking we are both 48 so the remainder won't last till retirement so at least one of us will need to work? Sucina looks lovely and seen some nice properties. A few questions as we know nothing !

What are the chances of us working there? I work at the moment as a receptionist in a boarding kennel but will do anything. My husband is an engineer, fitness freak n will do anything too

I think we would prob need a car from messages IV read on here re locality to supermarkets etc. Do u recommend driving our own car over or buying a car there, what are car prices like, we only want an old banger, typical Yorkshire folk! Cheapest option the best for us

And lastly, if ur falling asleep by now, sorry ! We can only obviously look at properties online, would u advise just getting flights out one weekend then  checking out properties whilst there but don't really know the pitfalls or can u advise us the best course of action?

Know we are asking a lot but we are getting near the big 50 and want to make the break. We are 48 but enjoy going out, socialising, having a few wines (bottles that is !) and would love some help and advice, anything appreciated, even if don't do it, thank you

Hi

We are doing exactly what you're thinking of doing.  We have just bought a property at La Torre golf, moving in September.  We are in the same position whereby still a good few years away from retirement but decided if we didn't make the move now we'd never do it.

We had been going over for the last 3 years looking at property in small villages however after visiting and staying at La Torre decided this is where we wanted to buy.  We used Murcia Property Services and Iain who took us around was fantastic.  No pushy sales tactics and gave us really good advise (he lives there too).  Once we decided on a property he introduced us to LS Solicitors (I'd already researched their company online as a few people had recommended them) who are doing everything for us i.e. Setting up utilities/obtaining NIE numbers/bank accounts etc.

Just waiting on our house sale going through and hope to be there in September.

I know a lot of advise is to rent first however because we have sold up in the UK it will make us all the more determined to make it work.  We have already started Spanish lessons as want to be able in integrate with our Spanish neighbours.

Good luck with your search, hope it all works out well for you.

Regards

Carolibe

Hi Caroline.

We have rented (only because our home will not be ready till feb) in mosa trajectum.  It was a golf course but now bankrupt but villa is lovely and has all we need.  Long term rentals with a dog hard to get from Aug so we are lucky.

La Torre golf is not too far from us.  Do you both play golf.  This last hill is a stressful one.  Balancing exchange completion and moving our furniture out.  Think we may be on crates for a few days and takeaways 🤣🤣🤣

Hope all goes well any help when we arrive we can give shout.  Keep in touch

Hi Karen

Husband is the golfer and looking forward to playing over there.  We've purchased a town house which is fully furnished and to our taste so thankfully don't have furniture to move though do have quite a few boxes to bring over and a cat!!!

Still can't believe after all the years of talking about moving that it's actually happening and both really excited about our new life over in Spain.

Will keep in touch as no doubt I'll have loads of questions🙂

Regards

Caroline

My other half keen golfer.  I have a set.  Couple lessons but drive range and putting for me at moment.

We have our furniture going intovstoreage for 10 mins as rental fully furnished and our house is a new build.  Exciting to see it going up.

How you bring the cat driving or flying.  We are driving down using the euro shuttle.

All exciting times ahead

We're driving to Spain via Euro tunnel.  Planning on stopping a few times and once we have an exact date will look at planning the route and booking pet friendly hotels.

Not looking forward to the long drive however will definitely be worth it.
