Hi Fran,

My family and I are hoping to do the same,

We are keeping are home in the uk, renting in Spain for a year and if we like it and the children settle ok we will buy and make it are permanent home.

We have a 6 year old son about to start year 2 in September and a 3 year old son currently in nursery.

We are finding it difficult to get information on local schools and of course they are now on summer break.

After doing lots of research we are happy for the boys to attend a Spanish school, in fact we want them to learn Spanish so if Spain isn’t for us at least they will come back to the uk knowing a different language.

I will messsge you with any information we manage to get.

Please keep in touch and good luck. X

Hi ladies

We are in the same position as you both my mum lives in sucina which is a plus and 13 years ago I lived there and my oldest son (now 18) went to the village school.

We are looking at putting our 6 year old & 11 year old in there too, apparently there is a lot more English there now which is better for them settling in as when my eldest went there there was only 3 English students in his class.

Xx

Hi ladies.

So good to read your posts as we are in the same position. Hoping to move out next year and do the same. Just trying to locate a primary school for my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter.

We are looking at a Spanish state school as I would like them to integrate but heard of a few bilingual schools in the area that may also help.

I have read that you need to apply to the local town hall and they allocate school places. Not sure if any of you have done this as yet?

Best Regards

Hi, just wondering if you made the move? And if so how it went? Thank you.
