I am pretty sure your Sky Q box will not work in Spain, you should however be able to access the app within Europe. If you use the app for any period of time they will contact you to confirm a UK address.

Hi Anthony,
I work for Sky and can confirm that the previous Sky boxes (HD, Sky +) or as we refer to them the Classic Sky were owned by the customer after 12 months and therefore you got to keep them, but we’re responsible for any breakdowns/service calls.
Sky Q is a different business model, the customer does not own the equipment but does not pay for any breakdowns/service calls during its lifetime. However, if you cancel your contract all internal equipment has to be returned or you will be charged.
You would also need a wideband LNB or Hybrid LNB in Spain for the dish to provide the current signal to your Sky Q box. Installers in Spain may not have access to these, or the costs may be excessive. Secondly if you are an existing Multiscreen/Multiroom customer Sky are likely to realise that your system is not “operating” correctly if it’s in Spain, as it will stop sending back its normal regular WiFi logs.
I would personally go for an internet tv system, easier, cheaper and less likely to give you dish/signal issues in the future with changing footprints and transponders etc...
Best,
Paul.
Thanks for the info.
I will take that on board, sounds like internet tv system is the best option. Thanks for the info Paul.

Hi
We had Sky Q too and we had a really difficult time when we left to come over here.
The first problem was they insist on you giving a months notice (if you can actually get through I was on the phone for hours for three days on they trot before I got a human being to speak to me)to cancel and then about a month after that they will send a couple of boxes and labels to your address. By which time we had moved to Spain, luckily the new owners posted them for us.
However despite having proof of postage receipts they sent countless emails from a no reply address saying we still had one and they were going to charge us for it, they couldn’t as I had cancelled the direct debit and my uk bank account.
I just ignored these as I figured eventually someone would call to save me 3 more days of trying to call them but they never did and eventually the emails stopped.
We now have internet Tv in Spain and it isn’t as good, there’s no series link or record function and only 14 days of catchup but it’s much cheaper.
Thanks for the info Gail will bear this in mind.
