If you look around Spain you will see many Villas and apartments converted int businesses, on sector "A" for example Mercers used to trade from a villa and there used to be some villas off the top road opposite where the butchers are, that had been converted to commercial.

Also as Steve reiterated what I had said that it would be a very expensive process/...

...

I am sure if you did get permission people may use it but you would have to be very competitive with your prices and you would not have the buying power of the larger companies.

Also, frequent flyer has said he had purchased a villa on a gated community elsewhere and has said there are many people selling up? although I am sure others will replace them.

Again best wishes but just get some advice from the town hall before you invest and possibly lose too much money,

I agree the business would have to be competitive to survive. Alan’s on Sector A is a good example, many products are cheaper than the big supermarket chains.  Alan’s, however, has the advantage of being in a business environment, people using the local facilities call at his small supermarket, hence a steady stream of customers. Someone also posted that not everyone drives, I am sorry but Camposol Sector D is nit for you, a car is essential.

Really do not understand this negativity towards sector D...? It is by far the largest sector on Camposol and so another commercial centre would make perfect sense and then potentially people on D wouldn't need a car to go shopping, eat out or have a beer

Many people like a quiet life and nothing wrong with that at all and certainly does not mean we are "dead" either. Maybe we do not like the hustle and bustle as we came for a different pace of life...?

In response to CFC1905 I was not decrying Sector D it is a lovely peaceful place away from the hustle bustle that occurs on Sectors A&B but a car is essential. We are talking here about a shop with attached bar not a complete business centre. I doubt self sufficiency for the Sector would survive, Sector D might be the largest Sector but a lot are holiday homes, therefore limited.

Would agree that a single shop/bar would make that much impact so totally agree that a car would still be required. However, another commercial centre could be a different kettle of fish...

Sector D has been described as a mortuary , where people live in utter quite and silence apart from the odd dog barking , no noise ,no children ,no laughter, people just lock themselves away in thier dream home occasionally taking the odd trip to supermarket to buy food that's if you had a car......

......what a horrendous way to live ones life , I fear dying here as no one would know for months. If someone had the guts to build something on  sector D it would make alot of people happy and get to know ones neighbours better.

Tomxv ... reading your post on sector D ...it is obvious that you know very little about Camposol as a Estate ...sector D has the largest population of full time Residents on Camposol ...I have owned a Villa on Camposol for 12 year's I also know everyone that is a full time resident / holiday home owner in my street ..as everyone else does so you would have no fear of waking up dead one morning with no one discovering you for months... that I can assure sure  of....Camposol can be classed as a very friendly place to live with a excellent community spirit with something for everyone ..even the odd ball hermit  has no fear of dieing and not being discovered for months...as you put it .

Tom - have to say that imo you are totally misinformed. Camposol is no different to the uk in terms of making friends and speaking tour neighbours

The face that D is considered quiet does NOT mean we are all hermits looking for a place to wither and die...!!!!

If it's that bad and no-one talks to anyone else how do you know it's called Mortuary Street, unless you are Edgar Allen Poe of course?

Agree with previous response, no different to many UK streets, speak to the neighbours you know and like, ignore the rest. We certainly only spoke to 3 or 4 on our road in the old days, already speaking to more than that here after 3 months.

Thanks to phones and Skype still in touch with many others, family and friends here and UK so any problems would soon be noticed.
