Rather than a business maybe a charity run establishment with a social coffee shop & a bar would get through a planning application. You never know.
But for a sector as large as D do you think a single establishment would be economically viable...?
Getting back to original topic, one of the reasons we bought on D, along with many other people l suspect, is that there are no bars or music nearby, valuing the peace and quiet. For as long as we are able we will drive to A,B or Mazarron for our needs, when unable to do so we can review our options.
It seems to me, and I have heard this many times, that regardless of where you live in Spain you will always need a car to get around
A 6 to 8 minute drive to B does not seem a great inconvenience in order to retain the peace, privacy and tranquility of sector D and we are extremely pleased with our location and villa

Can I suggest that you refer to my post 25 April and if people want this everyone puts 1000 euro into a pot for permission and see how far this goes. Then not only the person proposing the idea does not lose everything!!

Hey "idiot", just remember that it takes all sorts and seeing as more people live on D as opposed to A, B and C combined I could suggest maybe they are not the odd ones....?

I would definitely ask a Gestoria first about rules regs etc. There is a hairdressers on A that has been converted from a villa. So why is Frequent flyer so sure it is nigh on impossible???
Next to the hairdressers/beauty salon is an insurance brokers.

...f patience. Do a dummy run and see what happens. There is certainly a need for a 'dammit I forgot' shop/café - it is a 6 mile round trip to get a bottle of milk.
Denounced, someone local must have complained? Is it a case of great idea but not next for to my property!
Idiot123, never a more apt handle.
Don't know which parallel universe you live in, but ours is not so bad.
Sure our version of Camposol has its problems, what city, town or village anywhere doesn't? It still has a lot going for it. Neighbours are friendly as are the natives. Roads are better than the ones we left in the UK and the hundreds of collapsing buildings have magically disappeared, around our section of D l have counted only 3 or 4 empty/abandoned houses and just the one well known bit of missing road. Again have seen much worse in UK where our council tax was 10 times ours here.
Until recently there were no planning permits being granted on the areas D sector that were anywhere near the area where the flood rushed through 5 years ago. Fifty years ago a complete campsite was washed away in Bolneuvo and nobody knows how many people died. This year there was major flooding in Madrid. Sudden, heavy storms are not unusual.
If there is another GOTA FRIA the Spanish government have a special compensation scheme (claims must be made within seven days) to fix the damage and if you walk around the area you will find it difficult to find the route the flood followed. The local council took fright and banned planning for further planning for extensions, etc. However if you stand on Calle Piteras early in the morning you will see a steady procession of trucks full of building materials, rumbling into D sector to fuel the seemingly incessant house improvement process.
Following the auction of MASA's bankrupt assets, houses that have been abandoned or up for sale for years have been snapped up, refurbished, swimming pools installed and additions built. Some of them being sold on for quite handsome prices.
Quite a few of these properties are being bought by Spanish residents, the local council has changed hands and we now have a camposol resident on the council. Idiot123 - I am afraid you are out of touch. The golf club is thriving, (book very early for Sunday lunch) and improvements are ongoing. The Hotel has been sold and the local gardening groups are doing a grand job of enhancing the place. B sector commercial sector is doing well. Walking groups are fully subscribed and activity groups are reviving themselves now that the furnace has been turned off and temperatures are becoming more reasonable. The coolbirds who fly home for the summer are coming back and opening up their houses. New residents are moving in. The glass I think is two thirds full.
Is extending still banned? I don't know. If anyone does know please reply?
There is a plan to build a storm relief drain but the council is deep in debt so there is an discussion taking place with the water board, regional government, national government, the EU, etc, as to who is going to pay for it. We all wait events.
